Nova Business Energy is an energy brokerage for UK businesses.

Nova Business Energy was set up in 2026 as part of the Ignite Business Group, based in Corby, Northamptonshire. The group has worked with owner-managed businesses across the UK since 2024, and the same question kept coming up: is my energy contract a fair deal, and who can I trust to tell me?

We started Nova to answer it plainly. We compare the contracts available to us, we recommend one, and we tell you what we are paid on it before you agree. If you are already on a fair deal, we say so.

Nova is led by Casey Botterill, Managing Director, with Jonathan Charalambous, Group Operations Director, responsible for how we operate and for looking after your data.

How our brokerage works

We are a broker, not a supplier. We compare contracts from the suppliers we work with and recommend one. You contract directly with the supplier, on the supplier’s terms, and we help you put it in place.

Our contracts are submitted to suppliers through a partner broker that holds the agreements with those suppliers. The partner broker acts on our instructions. You remain our customer, and we remain responsible to you for everything we do.

The supplier pays us a commission, which is included in the unit rate of the contract you choose. Before you agree to anything we tell you the figure, in pence per kWh and in pounds a year, and the same figure appears in the supplier’s own contract terms. We do not charge you a fee.

We do not quote from every supplier in the market. If you ask, we will tell you which suppliers we approached for you.

We believe you should know exactly how we earn before you sign anything.
